Real Weddings: Tita & Mike at Belle Mer

Tita and Mike were married at the beautiful Belle Mer, in Newport, RI. Being one of the most modern Newport wedding venues, Belle Mere lent itself perfectly to their inspiration for the day: “ocean, flowers, and fun”. The ceremony took place right on the water and had a gorgeous foggy backdrop. It may not have been the sunny day every bride dreams for, but it had it’s own mysterious and romantic charm. Plus, it was great for some truly unique photos! Ocean? Check. Fun? Definitely check! Flowers? Check (thanks to Tita!) Would you believe that Tita did all the floral designing and arranging herself? Amazing! Tita and Mike did much of the wedding planning themselves (especially those gorgeous flowers!) Here’s their advice for brides and grooms: “Its a long process and there will be days when everything goes right and other days when it doesn’t. Stay patient with one another and

Inspired by…Hashtagging!

Hi friends! I bet most of you already know this, but just in case… Make sure your Newport wedding guests hashtag your wedding! Leave a sign, write a note, make an announcement for all pictures or posts regarding your wedding to be hashtagged under the same name. This way, you and your man can easily check out the view of your wedding venue from the crowd afterwards. Social media, you infiltrate everything, but for this we’ll say #thankyou.                                                                                                                     ♥Emily

Things we love…Sprinkles!

Somewhere on my list of happiest things, rainbow sprinkles can be found. In my opinion, there is not much happier. Because of this I like the idea of using them to celebrate at a wedding. Rainbow sprinkles are fun enough, colorful enough, and sweet enough to be on your morning donut, as well as thrown around at your in love party. Go crazy.   ♥Emily

Things We Love…Feathers!

Feathers are an inexpensive embellishment and a light hearted token to flutter and float through the day. Their simplicity makes it possible to spread them quite everywhere, subtly softening the feel. And by everywhere, I mean they fit anywhere: in the bouquet, in your hair, in your centerpiece, on the dance floor, over the walls, from the ceiling. Your options are limitless and your vibe is light.                                                                                           ♥Emily

Inspired by…Masquerade!

So, a bit ashamedly, I’ll admit- I just spent the last month of my life watching all six seasons of gossip girl on Netflix. I stayed up late into the night, desperate to find out if Chuck and Blair got back together. For all of you who are also fans, you will remember their obsession with masquerades. Every season, the brilliant idea hit somebody, “Let’s have a masquerade ball- that will fix it!” Well, I am a little inspired. Masquerade Wedding. Let the mysteries unravel and the romance stir. Meet me at midnight.                                                                                                   ♥Emily

Inspired by…2013 Songs!

Ladies, I am sure you are all on the look out for songs to use throughout your festivities, especially for the untouchable first dance. Well, I think I have found one of the best and most beautiful that 2013 has thus far offered to us. Its called “Golden” by Lady Antebellum. In my opinion, its a melodic masterpiece, even through its simplicity. There is a bit of an edge to using a new song for your first dance as well; your song is still fresh with magic, danced over by very few. So here is another song you have now stumbled upon in the search- add it to your long list of maybes.     -Em

Bachelorette Party Rut

As I have said in a previous post, my older sister is getting married this August! Being a bridesmaid, it is a given that I am to help with the bachelorette party. We pretty much have an entire day planned out for the beautiful bride to be, but I am stuck on one aspect….games. Games are always played at the party to celebrate the brides last day of officially being single. So, today, I am asking all of you NWG readers, what are some fun, yet different games to play? I keep researching and coming up with the same few that get old pretty fast! Please share your thoughts, ideas and anything you have done in the past! I thank you in advance XOXO-Samantha

Inspired by…The Aisle!

This is your center of attention moment, or I don’t know, maybe you get those all the time. Regardless, the aisle you walk down should be striking. This is a very simple concept, but instead of the small sprinkling of flower petals, why not blanket your aisle in them or on the sides. The more the better, right? An array of candles will give you a warm angelic glow and play off your dress beautifully. Even these patchwork aisles have a certain sentimental charm. Whatever you do, make sure it is just a continuation of your loveliness.                                                                                             ♥Emily
