The Look…Undertones!
When choosing a dress, it is very important to know whether you have a warm or cool undertone. Those with cool complexions have blue undertones, and those with warm complexions have yellow undertones. As a help to those of you who aren’t so sure, I thought I would share a few tips to figure it out.
1. What color are the veins on the inside of your forearm? If the veins are blue, then you are cool. If they are more green, then you are warm.
2. Which jewelry suits you better? Silver ladies most likely have cool undertones. Golden girls are more likely to have warmer skin tones.
3. Then of course, there are some generalizations. Those of you who burn easily- probably cool. If you’re pink instead of peach- probably cool. Those of you with darker skin that has a red look to it- probably cool. Those of you fair skinned pretties who have the ability to tan- warm. Peachy?? golden skin? Dark skin with yellow tones- warm warm warm.
Why does this matter as a bride? Determining your undertone helps determine what shade of wedding dress will compliment you in the most lovely of ways. Although I do not think it needs to be followed as a strict rule, it can be helpful. So now, to match your new discoveries…
If you have a cool undertone, a snow white wedding dress is best for you. If you have a warm undertone, your prettiest dress is in cream or ivory.
