When it comes to your wedding invitations, it’s all about the wording! After all, they are all words aren’t they? Most wedding planners (if you are using one) know how an invitation should be worded, depending on the style of your wedding. We always say stick with being as proper as possible but we do realize it is two thousand twelve (or is it two thousand AND twelve) and at some point you have to make them personable and fit to your event. There are tons of resources online like Crane & Co. who are very traditional and have a lot to say about making your invitation perfect! Real Wedding: Tara & Chuck
Although it doesn’t quite feel like Winter yet here in Rhode Island, we couldn’t help but post this Winter wedding of Tara and Chuck! The bride and groom met on a blind date and eventually Chuck proposed on the beach! They decided on the Astors Beechwood Mansion in Newport. Wanting a small wedding of about sixty guests, the reception was glowing with lights and filled with great food, great people and great wine. Viera Photographics documented the evening beautifully, capturing every detail from the cake made by Blackstone Catering to the wintery-white centerpieces by Stoneblossom! What was the icing on the cake for Tara? The fact that the first snowfall of the season just so happened to fall on her wedding night, making her Winter wedding absolutely perfect! BHLDN?….Maybe you’ve seen these 5 letters before, maybe you have not. Any bride who has gone above and beyond in her search for a wedding gown surely has. So, what do these lovely little letters stand for? They stand for Beholden a bridal line by the creators of Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and Free People. Designed after the likes of the Anthropologie style, Beholden or BHLDN is beautiful, elegant and definitely not classic. They offer everything from the bridal gown itself to lingerie. Nothing quite screams a wedding like white, so why not a winter white wedding? Winter weddings have me jumping for joy and not just because of the alliteration! There is something about a wedding in the midst of snow and holidays that make that special day feel that much more romantic. Etiquette 101: The Maid of Honor, to Toast or Not to Toast?
Public speaking isn’t everyone’s forte, and though there is no set in stone rule that says your maid of honor is required to give a speech on your wedding day, it is traditional for her to do so. That being said, something brides and potential maids of honor should consider, both when asking and accepting the responsibility, is that the role generally comes with said obligation. Also, as an unsaid rule, the bride and groom should be sure to call and personally ask those, who they would like to speak that they’d like them to. One sticky situation you surely want to avoid is asking someone to be your maid of honor and then choosing someone else to speak. We hope you all enjoyed your long holiday weekend and are back to enjoy the absolutely phenomenal wedding of Hannah and Jaime at the beautiful Hope Club in Providence, RI. Fancy Pants Event Planning were the wedding planners and had nothing but good things to say about the couple and the day! Rockstar Limo handled the transportation and Sin Desserts the cake! The menus, table numbers and signs were done by Creative Parties, Ltd. Jamie and Hannah who wore a dress from Priscilla’s of Boston met in Washington D.C. and knew it was love at first sight. Their friends thought they were crazy, until this incredibly chic day happened this past September.
